Description
Level Shutdown refers to floors closed off from the public from rising pollution levels. The bio-material Jisang Tower is made of wasn't as pollution-proof or filtering as promised, so the lowest levels of the tower have become permeated by the outside. These floors are quarantined off, and their residents moved up higher, past Ground Zero, which acts as the lowest currently livable floor. The government perpetuates the idea that exposure to pollution is immediately deadly, or if you survive, debilitating. Guards who patrol the areas are outfitted in high-tech suits and gas masks to filter out the smog.
Scavengers quietly traverse these floors in the dead of night using homemade tech and personalized gas masks. Within the small community, they have dispelled most fear that the gases are deadly, but aren't sure of their long term affects, so they try to stay as safe as possible. This knowledge hasn't become public past rumors however, for fear of being found out by the police for the capital punishment of going into unauthorized zones.
There are currently about 30 floors barricaded from the public. Corporations use these floors to store and run secret technology, like the AFTER servers.
